Every Saturday night, weekend evening kagura performances are held at Sanku Shrine.
Iwami Kagura, a tradition beloved by locals of all ages.
Some visitors to Hamada come specifically for the kagura.
This September through November, performances will be held at Sanku Shrine not only on Saturdays but also specially on Fridays.
It’s about a 5-minute drive or a 25-minute walk from Hotel Matsuo.
As the weather cools, walking there might be quite pleasant.
You can purchase performance tickets yourself, or if you’re staying with us, Hotel Matsuo can reserve them for you. Please mention this when making your accommodation reservation.
We invite you to experience the powerful dance of Iwami Kagura, a source of local pride.
